The New Math
I remember the frustration I felt when my kids began school and they brought home a new way to do MATH. I never liked math as a student and now, as a parent, I had to help my kids do what I disliked in a totally different way.
Thankfully, my wife was a teacher who was certified in math and was able to pick up this “NEW MATH” and helped our children, both of whom did great; No thanks to me.
Yet, 1+1 always equals 2! Doesn’t it?
When it comes to your marketing efforts, that might not be true.

One marketing technique, employed to a single person will often result, if you’re lucky, in ONE referral. So, if you ask a current patient for referrals, you might end up with 2 patients.
That’s the old math of 1+1=2.
The new math is doing the same marketing technique, in this case, REFERRAL marketing and getting 10 patients.
How can YOU do that?
The best way of doing this is to focus your referral generating strategies on activities that can generate more than WORD OF ONE MOUTH.
Who in YOUR network has access to many people that can benefit from YOUR services?
Marketing to such people expands the referral generation potential exponentially.
Some people in YOUR network are also not bound by some of the HIPAA restrictions healthcare practices have.
As an example; a Salon, Gym, Massage Therapist or Spa might be willing to let you piggy back onto their LIST.
One effort, like meeting with owner of the Spa, could potentially yield many leads or prospects that could convert into patients.
During times of limited resources of time, effort or money, the NEW MATH just makes more sense.
