I love Thanksgiving. I think it’s a unique and quintessentially American holiday. It’s a “glass is half full”, positive celebration. It’s one national holiday that hasn’t totally degenerated into a shopping-fest. That’s tomorrow.
Thanksgiving is a time to contemplate the bounty of our lives. And, regardless of where we are in our lives, as we are alive, we have much to be thankful for. Today, we try to forget the mayhem and focus on the positive. We choose to focus on the people in our lives.
As I stare out of my window on this cold, leaf-less, beautifully sunny morning, I write to thank each of YOU for being a part of our lives. Laurie and I consider ourselves wealthy beyond measure because we have a treasure of people in our lives. You are one of those gems.
And, though we’re thankful daily, on THIS day, we institutionalize what should be the routine. Thank-you for being you. Thank you for what you mean to us. Thank you for giving a part of yourself to us. We hold that parcel in great esteem. Its more valuable than you might know and today… we want you to know it.
Laurie and I wish you a meaningful, healthful, joyous Thanksgiving.
Laurie and Michael
